Reigning King of England from April 21st 1509 until his death on January 28th 1547.
King Henry VIII is more remembered for his six marriages, in particular, the methods he used to end those marriages.

King Henry VIII’s Wives
Catherine of Aragon Lrg 7″ – D6643 (1975)
First betrothed to Arthur, Prince of Wales. Following his death in 1501, she would later marry his younger brother King Henry VIII in 1509.
King Henry VIII’s dissatisfaction with their marriage, led to England’s schism with the Catholic Church and her banishment from Court in 1533.
Catherine lived out her remaining years at Kimbolton Castle passing away on January 7th 1536.

Anne Boleyn Lrg 7 1/4″ – D6644 (1975)
Secretly marrying King Henry VIII on November 14th 1532 before formalizing their marriage on January 25th 1533.
This union was one of the main driving forces behind the King becoming the head of the Church of England, taking control away from the Pope.
Having not produced a male heir after three years of marriage. King Henry VIII ended their marriage under the guise of treason and she was beheaded on May 17th 1536.

Jane Seymour Lrg 7 1/4″ – D6646 (1978)
Married King Henry VIII on May 30th 1536, though was never crowned Queen due to a plague in London at the time.
Following the birth of their son, the future King Edward VI, she would later die from postnatal complications on October 24th 1537.
Of all of King Henry VIII’s wives, Jane Seymour would be the only one to receive a proper Queen’s funeral.

Anne of Cleves Lrg 7 1/4″ – D6653 (1979)
The fourth wife of King Henry VIII. Married January 6th 1540, but the marriage was never consummated and annulled on July 9th of the same year.
She would thereafter be referred to as the King’s Beloved Sister and go on to out live the rest of King Henry VIII’s wives.

Catherine Howard Lrg 7″ – D6645 (1977)
On July 28th 1540, a young 16-17 year old Catherine married a then 49 year old King Henry VIII.
The marriage would be annulled sixteen months later in November of 1541 and she would be beheaded three months after, on the grounds of treason for committing adultery.

Catherine Parr Lrg 6 3/4″ – D6664 (1980)
The last of King Henry VIII’S six wives and the most-married English queen, with four husbands.
Following King Henry VIII’s death on January 28th 1547, she would marry her fourth husband. It would be a short-lived marriage with her death in September of 1548, possibly due to
complications of child birth.
